GROUPS AT ARUMC
United Methodist Men
The mission of the United Methodist Men (UMM) is to support spiritual growth among men, helping men to mature as disciples as they encourage spiritual formation in others. The men's group gathers to serve many ministries within the community and the church. Various fundraisers support Christmas missions projects, Salkehatchie summer missions, as well as other ministry needs. The UMM have outings throughout the year and monthly Sunday breakfasts and devotionals. Outings have included a paintball excursion and attending Greenville Drive games.
United Methodist Women
The United Methodist Women (UMW) meet the third Sunday each month at 8:15 a.m. Their purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of ARUMC. They fund such missions as The Backpack Ministry, Clothing Drives, and other ministries within the church. The UMW group has taken several outings to Hendersonville (A day in the Country), the Cafe in the Corner, and sponsored a "Holiday for Her".
All elementary aged children are invited to join us at any of our various activities. We have "Children's Group" every second and fourth Sunday of the month. During that time the children meet after church from 12:30-2:00 PM. They are fed a nutritious lunch, engage in The Word and play some games. It is a great way to connect during the week. Throughout the year we hold special Lock-In's for Back to School, Christmas Break and End of the Year. We also have various activities where the whole family can participate. Please see our calendar for up-to-date information.
The youth is made up of middle and high school students. Our regular meetings are scheduled on bi-weekly Sundays after church. During that time we rotate our activities from study, service, fellowship, mission, and also preparing bags of food for local students. On the calendar, you will also see monthly events, which are outings for the youth. We encourage youth to invite a friend or two to any of our meeting. We look forward to being in ministry with you and your family!
The Forever Young group gathers on a monthly basis for a time of food, fellowship, and devotion. We meet at church some months and others we take short trips, or meet at local restaurants. The group is comprised of typically older adults, but there are no age limitations. Come out and enjoy our fellowship. We typically meet monthly on the third Tuesday of each month.
