The Connections Class is taught by Tom Chambers and is a class for adults of all ages. Our class has had attendees in their 20’s all the way to folks in their senior years. There is one common bond that draws all of these various age groups together – a hunger for the Word of God. Our Sunday morning “curriculum” is God’s Word – the Bible. We do series on various books of both the Old and New Testament and occasionally topical studies. Recently, we have completed studies on 2 Peter, 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, Galatians, the prophecies of Elisha, and Jude. We have completed topical studies such as “The 5 ‘I Am’ statements of Satan”, “The 7 ‘I Am’ Statements of Jesus”, and “Basic Truths to Hold Fast To In Chaotic Times.”
We teach Scripture as the divine, God-breathed, indisputable Truth. We believe that the Bible is a living, breathing letter from a God who exists outside of human time and limitations to His fallen creation. The 66 books written down by 40 authors is as relative and alive today as it was when He spoke it.
We believe that a critical part of growing in Christ Jesus is gathering as His Body, the Church. We know from Scripture that on the Sabbath, Jesus was in church – see Luke 4:16. Further, we believe that Hebrews 10:25 is not a suggestion but rather a mandate for those pursuing a relationship with the Son of God.
We believe that it is important for “Sunday School” to not be just a ‘once a week’ gathering. Our class shares times of fellowship by having class picnics, attending Christian concerts and movies, and just sitting on the back porch eating homemade ice cream together.
If you are hungry and searching; if you are in need of encouragement and hope –please know that you are welcome to come and “connect” with the Body of Christ.
The Seekers Class is taught by Ron Young and is for adults of all ages. We currently have members ranging in age from the 30's to the 80's, with the majority or our members in their 60's and 70's. We have both couples and singles.
We have a Bible-based discussion style class. Sometimes we use literature from a Christian publisher; sometimes a Bible-based book commentary; and sometimes just a section (normally a particular book) of the Bible.
We are interested in mission work and currently are working with Generations (a boy's home near Ware Place) on a monthly basis. We provide Christmas gifts for several needy children each year. We have raked leaves and trimmed shrubs for the elderly; painted several rooms and hallways for charitable organizations; and many other projects. We normally volunteer for SHINE (as a class) two times per year. We also support many projects with monetary donations. We are always looking for ways we can help in the local community.
We also enjoy getting together at, times other than Sunday morning, for fellowship and meals.
The Agape Class discusses topics that relate to God, God's children, and the world. Suggestions about discussion topics are welcomed. The class is open to adults of any age.
