Why Should I Serve My Church?

In Matthew 5:16 it says “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” We should not forget that serving is a biblical lesson learned several times throughout the bible. Let us work as a church to serve one another and to grow in our lives together.

Where Can I Serve?

Children’s Ministry

What can you help with in the children’s ministry at ARUMC? The children are one of the most important aspects at our church. Through teaching the kids about Jesus it will give you one of the most satisfying serving positions possible. The children’s ministry is a place for all children to come and meet Jesus on their level. Lessons are planned to assist the kids learn about God and lead them to make a decision to follow him. Services for Children include Wednesday nights where the kids are fed and we have a fun activity. We also have Sunday children’s church during our normal 11am service. If you are looking for a fulfilling place to serve and lead followers of Christ, maybe this is the place. Please note all members who serve in these positions are subject to a background check for safety.

Worship Team

The Worship team supports all church related activities. We ready the sanctuary each Sunday to coincide with the Pastor’s sermon and music selections to create a welcoming atmosphere for our members and guests. We provide a gift bag for visitors that contains church literature and church related favors. We plan holiday and special events along with baptisms, weddings and funerals.  Sacraments are provided for communion Sundays by our team along with the church greeter.

Safety

The safety team at ARUMC makes sure everyone is safe during our service. Serving here is a great for people who are able to see safety concerns and are willing to help. This includes walking around the building during service and ensuring no one is in the parking lot that does not need to be. This position may have to work hand in hand with local law enforcement if needed and ensures everyone can worship safetly.

Administration

Maybe you have the God given ability to help by serving in the administration team. Helping with keeping attendance in service or counting the collections weekly. This is a major part to help everyone come together and serve the Lord. If you feel like the administration serving maybe something you can do let us know you are interested. We would love the opportunity to discuss what roles we need help in and how you can serve.
