Sermon 3-8-2026 Rev. Dr. Shawn Armstrong. "The Woman at the Well" John 4:5-42 details Jesus’ encounter with a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well, highlighting his role as the Messiah for all people, not just Jews. He breaks social, gender, and religious barriers to offer "living water" (spiritual salvation and eternal life). The woman becomes an evangelist, leading her town to recognize Jesus as the "Savior of the world" ... See MoreSee Less

Sermon 3-1-2026 Rev. Dr. Shawn Armstrong. "The Household of God" Ephesians 2:19 declares that through faith in Jesus, believers—particularly Gentiles—are no longer spiritual outsiders or strangers to God's promises. Instead, they gain full, equal rights as citizens of God’s kingdom and are adopted as family members into His household. This marks a total shift from exclusion to belonging ... See MoreSee Less

Dear pastors and fellow disciples:

The new configuration of our United Methodist Districts in the South Carolina Conference will soon be announced. In anticipation of that information becoming public, I wanted to welcome you to your new district. Your church will be part of the new (yet-unnamed) district centered in the Easley/Powdersville area of Anderson County. For place-holding purposes, some are referring to your new district as the Anderson-Easley District, but I hope a permanent name may be chosen before long.

This set of churches consists of those which have been in the Anderson District, those of the Greenville District which have received superintendent coverage from me during the past two conference years, and the addition of a few churches recently covered by the Greenwood DS. It will be thrilling to watch how all these churches celebrate old connections and establish new relationships. You will grow God's purpose well as you embrace each other in our shared mission.

Your new District Superintendent will be announced Feb. 22 on the Conference website. Receive them well in the grace and warmth for which you are known.

Grace and peace to you. You have blessed me in this walk we have shared.

Steve

"Remember that you are dust... and to dust you shall return."
These words are often offered during Ash Wednesday worship services.

The words are not meant to sound threatening or foreboding. Instead they remind us that we are not God, but God's good creation. As we receive the ashes on Ash Wednesday, we acknowledge our mortality, our dependence on God and our need for renewal. It is a call to live fully, love boldly and turn our hearts toward God’s grace.

Lent invites us into a season of reflection, repentance and renewal. How is God calling you to grow in grace in this season?
