"Remember that you are dust... and to dust you shall return."
These words are often offered during Ash Wednesday worship services.

The words are not meant to sound threatening or foreboding. Instead they remind us that we are not God, but God's good creation. As we receive the ashes on Ash Wednesday, we acknowledge our mortality, our dependence on God and our need for renewal. It is a call to live fully, love boldly and turn our hearts toward God’s grace.

Lent invites us into a season of reflection, repentance and renewal. How is God calling you to grow in grace in this season?

The life of faith is not a life free from turmoil or trouble. But it is a life grounded in the peace of God's never-failing love.

"Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus" (no. 349 in The United Methodist Hymnal) reminds us to focus our hope in the promise of life witnessed in Jesus. The song was written by Helen H. Lemmel, who in her own life dealt with illness and the loss of her sight.

💭 Where is somewhere you turn to or someone you rely on to help you keep a focus on Jesus? ✝️

Sermon 2-15-2026 Rev. Dr. Shawn Armstrong "The Transfiguration" Matthew 17:1-9 details the Transfiguration, where Jesus reveals his divine glory to Peter, James, and John on a high mountain. His appearance changes, shining like the sun, while Moses and Elijah appear, representing the Law and the Prophets. God’s voice affirms Jesus as His beloved Son, commanding the disciples to listen to him. ... See MoreSee Less

This weekend, many congregations will observe Transfiguration Sunday.

As recounted in Matthew 17, the Transfiguration was a moment when the disciples saw Jesus not just as a teacher, but as the radiant Son of God. The Transfiguration reminds us that God's presence transforms.

🌟 In what ways is God calling you to reflect Christ’s light in the world?
